Personality:
Kai is a friendly creature if not a bit too curious for his own good. Though born a Gargoyle and as such a natural warrior he believes in mercy for one’s enemy and would rather let a foe live than finish him off. Humans intrigue Kai as they are the things his species were chosen to protect and so he views the species almost like brothers and sisters (even if he can’t walk among them without suspicion). But that doesn’t stop him from trying to make friends among them even if he has to do so in heavy disguise.

A passionate creature by nature, Kai trusts easy and is easy to trust himself. He believes creature’s are naturally good by nature and that evilness is something that a beast lets himself be overcome by, but also believes a creature has the right and ability to redeem himself should that ever happen.

The few things Kai dislikes are prejudice, injustice and cruelty.

Physical Appearance/Picture:
Kai is mostly humanoid but with distinct differences between he and any Human counterpart. He stands at about 5’10” when upright and perhaps at 3’ when on all fours or crouched. He looks mainly Human except sports a type of digitigrades legs with wide almost bird-like feet. Long and powerful black talons curl from both his fingers and toes and his body is layered in sinew, betraying his physical ability. A pair of dragon-like wings unfurl from his shoulder blades and measure perhaps 18’ or so in its full span. Upon the folding joint of his wings are small claw-like fingers (three each) and he can fold them over his shoulders and clasp them together much like a cloak (this helps when he’s trying to disguise himself in public). A long serpentine tail curls away from his hind pelvic area and is about as long as he is tall and prehensile. Horns curl away from his head and his long white hair which hangs almost like a wolf’s mane from his skull in different length, they twist elegantly back and are of a dark charcoal coloration. Kai’s face is somewhat Human-like and yet somewhat lizard-like. He sports a small snout with lizard-like nostrils and within hide sharp fangs; the two most prominent jut from his lower jaw and fit snugly against the lips of his upper maw.

Kai is most likely dressed in a deerskin leather loin-cloth held up by a thick leather belt with a brass buckle. When in disguise he dons a large traveling robe of a dark gray color he’d managed to procure with a deep hood. It allows him to walk in public (sometimes...) without being notice. He even goes so far as to done a wooden mask at times, carefully crafted, something given to him by a clan mate of his. It's very stylish and looks to be a well-made masquerade mask carved and crafted to look like a wolf's face painted in white and accented with bright colors like red and yellow.

Abilities: Kai is an adept warrior (as most Goyles are) and can pick up most any weapon and wield it with adequate proficiency. Kai’s true specialty is long staves, spears and pikes though he can handle a sword with confidence as well. The one thing Kai isn’t very good at is long ranged weaponry like bows and throwing daggers, he just never got the knack for it...besides, he can throw a javelin with a lot more accuracy anyway.

Kai has limited arcane knowledge, he was always nodding off when he was in class...but he did manage to learn a few useful things like a blinding flash, a minor invisibility technique and how to disguise one’s voice (or throw it for that matter). But those last two are as much physical skills as they are magics. He also has a fair bit of first aid knowledge as Gargoyles heal at a slow rate (until they stone, stoning heals all wounds). Due to this many of them learn to treat at least minor wounds if nothing else.

Kai also knows how to juggle and perform mild parlor tricks and a bit of acrobatics. Not that long of a stretch for a Goyle seeing as they’re naturally very agile and swift.

As a Gargoyle Kai is blessed with an enhanced strength, endurance, tolerance to disease and poisons (though they can still effect him) enhanced speed, heightened senses and a keen nightvision.

Background/History:
Kai was born to a clan of Goyles near (of course) a Human city. Born and raised as one of a warrior race and a secretive clan, Kai learned early the martial arts of battle and the importance of never being seen. To protect in the shadows and reveal yourself to no one. But...well...life gets lonely when you never get to meet the ones you protect, and Kai has always been fascinated... Human sciences and behavior intrigues him beyond reason and for all his life he’s wanted to walk among them without fear of being discovered.

After a time, he and a few of his litter mates began to infiltrate Human society by disguising themselves in long cloaks and masks. A mutual friend of them all crafted the masks to look like masquerade pieces, one of them carved to looked like a wolf’s face, the other a raven and the third a hare. Kai’s mask is the wolf's (crafted to match his hair color so it looks like fur) and the masks are all done with extreme taste and style. After a time, the three decided if they wanted to really blend in they should form some sort of troupe, learning to juggle and perform so that their awkward appearances wouldn’t stand out in public.

So they all worked at it and planned out pieces they could perform on dark street corners, which they do now and again. No one in their clan is aware of their actions (or so they hope) and so far they’ve done what seems to be a pretty good job keeping it a secret. But the secret is bound to slip sometime, and besides, Kai has become pretty gutsy lately...going into town alone to take in the sights and converse with the race he was forbidden from ever meeting face to face.

Extra Notes: Kai’s can pass for Human in disguise but it’s likely his scent and true form can be detected by a Vampire, Were or any other perceptive race. Humans however, are always easily fooled...especially since he pretends to be a street performer.

Kai stones during the day, it is an effect all Goyles suffer. Stoning heals all wounds but also leaves the creature susceptible to attack. He tries to be well away from whatever it was he was doing an hour or so before dawn, and usually finds a place nearby to roost for the day.

Kai possesses a basic caprentry skill but his true talent is his metal working. He's been known to craft beautiful jewelry out of semi-precious metals and stones and even bits of polished woods. It's something he does to pass the time he says...nothing more.
